Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Northeast Counseling Services

Northeast Counseling Services is seeking a CEO to manage the overall operation of our agency.

This position is a full-time leadership role within the agency, requiring a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Business, or other related field, with at least 6 or more years of non-profit management experience. An understanding of community mental health services, as well as recovery philosophy is preferred.

To qualify for this position, applicants:

  • Must lead the organization as the highest-ranking officer
  • Must set a vision and strategy to accomplish set goals through a cooperative and collaborative relationship with the Board of Directors, executive team, and staff.
  • Must have the ability, and track record, of ensuring profitability and competitiveness within our market.
  • Must have experience with budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Must understand regulatory and compliance requirements for the operation of a community mental health center.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to function in an environment that requires responsible decision-making, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and flexibility.

Northeast Counseling Services was incorporated as a non-profit corporation on January 8, 1971, to provide mental health services to the general public.

We are a full-service community mental health center available to residents of central and southern Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

We are a multiservice agency providing a broad array of behavioral health services through a coordinated system of care that has organized facilities both in Hazleton and Nanticoke and the community at large. We attribute to recovery principles in offering services to all citizens of lower Luzerne County regardless of age or behavioral difficulty.

We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations as well as Luzerne county resolutions.

Intake Services

Whether an individual is experiencing a mental health emergency or seeking non-emergency counseling, the Intake Department is the first contact to obtain services.

Adult Outpatient & Aftercare Services

Outpatient and Aftercare Services are provided to adults from the age of eighteen and above who are experiencing chronic or acute psychiatric symptoms that are causing adjustment difficulties.

Case Management Services

Blended Case Management services are non-clinical primary mental health services to ensure that the most seriously mentally ill individuals receive additional support geared to improving the quality of their lives and reducing psychiatric hospitalization.

“Transitions” is a program for those who desire to gain back skills and activities lost due to mental health issues.

Student Assistance Program

is a systematic team process used to mobilize school resources to remove barriers to learning. The primary goal is to help students overcome these barriers so that they may achieve, advance, and remain in school.
